The power of brands and virality will be the focus of the debate at the upcoming edition of Canarias Comunica

  • The Forum, which will be held on Thursday, May 16th, will feature Jorge Sandua from PutosModernos, Domingo Olivo from Sony Music Entertainment, and Amparo Cantalicio from Meridianum Talent Lab

Marketing and communication professionals face the great challenge of creating attractive and successful campaigns in a world marked by media noise every day. This will be the central topic of discussion at the 12th edition of Canarias Comunica, the Canarian Communication Forum, which will take place next Thursday, May 16th, at Infecar. In a world where an excessive amount of information is an undisputed protagonist, managing to capture and maintain attention in an increasingly reduced time has become the undisputed goal of brands.

Promoted and funded by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, Canarias Comunica will focus this time on ‘Virality vs Brand Power’, analyzing whether the secret lies in joining all viral successes or if it is more appropriate to create a brand identity without letting trends condition us.

For this, the Canarian Communication Forum will feature two prominent and prestigious voices in the industry: Jorge Sandua, product director and founder of PutosModernos, and Domingo Olivo, Marketing Director of Sony Music Entertainment. This conference will also be complemented by a workshop led by Amparo Cantalicio, CEO of Meridian Talent Lab and professor of the Masters in Digital Marketing and E-Business at Loyola University.

Tickets to participate in this 12th edition of Canarias Comunica, which will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., cost 3.50 euros and can be purchased at www.canariascomunica.es.

Event Program

Canarias Comunica 2024, the Canarian Communication Forum, will centre its 12th edition on the power of brands and the role of influencers, all under the theme “Virality vs Brand Power.” The event will include two presentations and a workshop hosted and moderated by Jota Ypunto, CEP and founder of Entrepreneurs Fight Club and Todo va a salir bien.

From 4:00 p.m., Jorge Sandua will deliver a presentation titled ‘Spam for today, hunger for tomorrow’, where, through a journey from the beginnings of PutosModernos to the present day, he will reveal the secret of their most famous successes and failures and provide the keys to how they create their viral campaigns thanks to their original copies.

After him, at 5:00 p.m., it will be Domingo Olivo’s turn. His presentation, ‘HIT TOC: Without a hit, I’m nothing,’ will delve into the obsessive search for viral hits and trends versus what he calls ‘stellar craftsmanship’ with lasting proposals from stars like Rosalía or C. Tangana.

Finally, at 6:30 p.m., Amparo Cantalicio’s workshop ‘How to do influencer marketing and not die trying’ will begin, with limited capacity. In this practical space of Canarias Comunica, we will address how to develop an optimal strategy and campaign with influencers using practical examples and real cases. From selection criteria and tools for searching profiles to briefings, budgets, contracts, and measuring actions, we see how to work step-by-step with content creators that help increase brand power and win over customers.
