This professional competition is aimed at working professional sommeliers of legal age who have studied sommelier training or are currently practising their profession.
The registration period will be open until 23.59 hours on Thursday 10 March.

The ninth Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair is committed to promoting, training and educating, as well as professionalising and disseminating knowledge of the wines and other gastronomic products of the Canary Islands and what they symbolise. Thus, in this edition, the 1st Gran Canaria Me Gusta Canary Islands Regional Sommelier Competition will be held, an event marked by the senses in which the production areas, grape varieties, the style of each winery and all those tasks that make each of the Canary Islands’ wine-growing areas and the rest of the food and gastronomic products of our islands great will be valued.

Active professional sommeliers of legal age who have studied sommelier training or are currently practising sommelier and are interested in taking part can register until 23.59 on Thursday 10 March.

The competition will be divided into two phases, with the final being held on Friday 29 April, in the morning, and will be entered by the 3 participants who have obtained the best score in the semi-final phase, consisting of a visual test and 4 tables.

The prize for the winner of this first edition of the Concurso Regional Sumiller Canarias Gran Canaria Me Gusta will be a training programme valued at three thousand euros, while the second and third place winners will each receive an award. Likewise, all those registered will receive a diploma of participation.

Those interested in taking part in the competition must complete the registration form on the website www.feriagrancanariamegusta.es and, in addition, they must attach a video presentation and their CV. The legal rules of the competition can also be downloaded from the website.

The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair will once again be promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and organised by Infecar. The Fair will also have Spar Gran Canaria as sponsor, Cajasiete as official collaborator; the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, Fegastrocan, and Fagor Profesional, as collaborators; and Alcampo as official product supplier.
