The Canary Islands Trade Fair Institution, Infecar, has decided to cancel the celebration of Planeta Gran Canaria, the 22nd edition of the Children’s Festival, due to the worsening of the health situation.

The change in Gran Canaria to level 3, together with the growing data in terms of the number of contagions and the accumulated incidence at present, have meant that, taking into account the strict safety measures at the venue and given the peculiarities of a fair dedicated to a children’s audience, the event has been cancelled for the second consecutive year in order to guarantee the full safety of all those attending, as well as employees and companies involved in the celebration of this Festival.

In this sense, it should be pointed out that, with the current measures of capacity, limitation of people and suspension of entertainment activities, toy libraries, workshops and similar, the normal development and execution of Planeta Gran Canaria would be considerably reduced, making it difficult to make the fair viable.

In addition to all of the above, it must be taken into account that the Children’s Festival is designed for children up to 12 years of age, one of the population segments currently at risk and without a complete vaccination schedule.

Consequently, we will refund all tickets purchased through official sales channels (Entrées) within a legally established period of 7 to 21 working days.

With all this, we would like to thank the thousands of people who had already purchased their tickets to enjoy a new edition of Planeta Gran Canaria with the illusion and hope of being able to meet again in 2022.
