Movelec closes its seventh edition by demonstrating the automotive sector’s commitment to electric vehicles

  • Exhibitors were optimistic about their participation, which increased the volume of business.

After three days of intense activity, the seventh edition of the Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show, Movelec, concluded today at Infecar with a positive balance for the 46 exhibiting companies that came together on this occasion.

The almost 7,000 square metres of exhibition space at this show, occupying the entire exhibition site, and with the presence of the leading brands of cars, motorbikes, bicycles and electric scooters, as well as a network of workshops and services and companies generating energy and 100% electric second-hand vehicles, show that the penetration of the electric market is increasing.

Among the visitors, the majority highlighted the long-term economic savings as one of the significant benefits of going electric, together with environmental awareness.

High diesel prices and lower costs for purchasing different electric vehicles are decisive in this regard.

“This seventh edition of the Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show, Movelec, concludes with the commitment of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria to sustainable mobility, with a significant increase in the number of exhibits and with the visit of citizens who are increasingly aware of opting for electric mobility due to all the advantages it offers in terms of savings, noise and care for the environment.

The event has seen a significant increase in the number of exhibitors, and with the visit of citizens who are increasingly aware of the advantages of electric mobility in terms of savings, noise and care for the environment”, said Minerva Alonso, Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

Natalia Santana, General Manager of Infecar, highlighted the “exponential increase in the number of exhibitors at this seventh edition, which is evidence of the automotive sector’s commitment to electric mobility”.

Movelec, the Electric Vehicle Show of the Canary Islands, is promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, organised by Infecar, sponsored by the Energy Council of Gran Canaria; with Cajasiete, as an official collaborator; and with AUVE, Faconauto Canarias and the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, as collaborators.
