– The International Sea Fair will be held in the Santa Catalina Dock area from 16 to 18 June

The International Sea Fair 2023 will once again occupy the esplanade of the Muelle Santa Catalina at the end of this spring, in a twelfth edition which will take place from the 16th to the 18th of June. The Port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria event, a benchmark for the marine and nautical sector in the Canary Islands, has less than a month to go before it starts with almost fifty registered exhibitors (with registrations still in progress). Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council and the Port Authority of Las Palmas are promoting a fair organised by the Department of Ciudad de Mar of the capital of Gran Canaria and Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria.

Fimar 2023 will cover a space of around 12,000 square metres to once again bring together a wide range of private and public players in the maritime, marine and nautical sectors in the surroundings of the Muelle Santa Catalina in what will become an accurate catalogue of the capabilities in these segments in the Islands. Exhibitors include firms and institutions dedicated to leisure and water sports, training, science and research or nautical fashion, coastal municipalities, sports federations whose fields are the sea and other groups and entities related to these activities.

All of them will provide information on a permanent offer, updating and updating their services and products within the framework of a blue economy in continuous progression in the archipelago. A process in which Gran Canaria, it is Port of La Luz and Las Palmas and the city plays a fundamental role.

Educational and informative sessions (with a specific area for talks and conferences), meetings, the usual catalogue of activities for the public on land and on the water (with the famous boat trips) and the presentation of these companies and institutions to the public will make up the bulk of the agenda designed for this edition of Fimar. The fair, which is free to enter, will also have a children’s area to facilitate family visits and a food and beverage area.

The contents of the International Maritime Fair will once again address the current reality and dynamics of the maritime and nautical sector and its future projections in the Canary Islands. However, in this 2023 edition, particular emphasis will be placed on promoting smart and sustainable beaches.

Fimar will again have a guest city in this twelfth edition in its natural vocation to strengthen commercial ties, collaboration, and possibilities of expanding business activity in the Macaronesian area. On this occasion, Mindelo (Cape Verde) will be the city that will send a delegation to the fair, with the mutual vocation of establishing synergies and sharing knowledge and experiences with the local sector.

Fimar 2023 is back with a vengeance 2023 after completing a successful edition in the previous year. The International Maritime Fair, held in the exact location, brought together 16,700 visitors and some sixty exhibitors in 2022, demonstrating the excellent health of the marine and nautical sector in the city and the island. In addition, recreational boating increased its sales by 50% compared to previous editions.
