- The festival will feature a wide range of music in different styles, including José Vélez and Ptazeta.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 24th May 2023 – The third edition of the music festival ‘Canariona’ will take place in Santa Catalina Park on 29th May from 19:30 until 01:30. Once again this year, the event brings together a wide repertoire of the talent of our island’s artists. From the most innovative music to the most unforgettable classics, ‘Canariona’ will have room for all tastes. In addition to José Velez and Ptazeta, the line-up will include Victor Lemes, Delia Santana, DJ Wanda Fuentes, Tabaiba Proyect, Arube and Tabaiba.
The order of the performances planned for the festival will be as follows: At 19:30 h. Víctor Lemes will start, who will be on stage for half an hour before being replaced by Delia Santana, and from 20:30 until 22:00 h. José Vélez will take the stage. At 22:00 h. there will be a succession of different artists who will alternate with Wanda Fuentes DJ intervening at each change of group.
In order to enjoy the shows and parallel activities, no entrance ticket will be required, access will be completely free and open to all those who wish to attend the Canariona concerts.
In addition to the concert programme, the Santa Catalina Park will have other activities during the day with various events and workshops in the morning. In this respect, it should be noted that from 11:00 to 12:00 there will be a children’s craft workshop for Canary Island Day, and from 12:00 to 13:00 there will be a folkloric performance by the Agrupación Las Goteras. At the same time, there will be stalls selling handicrafts, as well as stalls selling sweets, toys and nougat.
The president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, referred to ‘Canariona’ as an opportunity to start celebrating the 30th of May. “This festival gives us a fantastic opportunity to commemorate the Canary Islands Day, through the different artistic expressions given to us by the artists of our land”.
