Amateur in nature, it is aimed at anyone who is a lover of confectionery, of legal age and resident in Gran Canaria.
The registration period will be open until 23.59 hours on Thursday 10th March.
The sweet aroma of the Canarian kitchens is the star of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Popular Confectionery Competition, which is being held for the first time at the 9th edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, which will be held from 29 April to 1 May.
This competition, which will take place in amateur mode, is aimed at all pastry lovers, of legal age and residents of Gran Canaria, and the deadline for receipt of applications will remain open until 23.59 hours on Thursday 10 March. The competition will consist of the preparation and presentation of a homemade Canarian cake, highlighting the use of local ingredients.
Of all the recipes received, the three with the highest number of points will be the ones to compete in the final of the competition, on Sunday 1st May, as part of the programme of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair. The finalist recipes will be communicated to the contestants on Monday 21st March.
The prize for the winner of this first edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Popular Confectionery Competition will be a gift voucher for the purchase of a product in the Alcampo Telde hypermarket, valued at 300 euros, while the second and third place winners will each receive a prize.
Those interested in taking part in the competition must complete the entry form on the feriagrancanariamegusta.es website and also attach a video presentation indicating why they want to take part, as well as a detailed recipe and a photo of the final result. The legal rules of the competition can also be downloaded from the website.
The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair will once again be promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and organised by Infecar. The Fair will also have Spar Gran Canaria as sponsor, Cajasiete as official collaborator; the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, Fegastrocan, and Fagor Profesional, as collaborators; and Alcampo as official product supplier.
