The challenges of the energy transition are discussed on the second day of the International Canagua and Energy Fair

General satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors who have already attended the 13th edition of the International Fair Canagua and Energy, which this Thursday is celebrating its second day in Infecar. With 70 exhibitors from the water sector, energy and ecoislands and ecocities, this event is being the meeting point of the main actors of renewable energy in the regional and national scene.

Thus, this edition of Canagua and Energy is being part of a reverse mission organized by Proexca involving representatives of eight African institutions that launch tenders with water and renewable energy from Cape Verde, Senegal and Morocco. This is in addition to the presence of visitors and exhibitors of German, Portuguese or Romanian nationality, among others.

Also, and as part of the celebration of this 13th edition, this Thursday has developed a meeting of the main participants of the European project COME RES, which aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the electricity sector and focuses on facilitating the development and support the implementation of enabling frameworks for renewable energy communities (RECs).

In Spain, the COME RES project is active in four regions: Valencia and Catalonia are considered model regions, given their long tradition of energy cooperatives. While the Balearic and Canary archipelagos are considered target regions in which renewable energy communities should be promoted.

Thus, and as manifested in the preliminary results of this project, the state of development of Renewable Energy Communities in Spain is promising, although still limited to a few embryonic experiences throughout the country, mainly reliably in photovoltaic technology.
