• For seven days, this festival has been the epicenter of fun for Gran Canarian families who have been able to enjoy this edition after a two-year hiatus.
• Music, theater, lights and soap bubbles have formed the perfect framework to host almost thirty activities full of good atmosphere.

Happy children, jumping, running and enjoying their Christmas vacations to the fullest. That is the best summary of this 22nd edition of Planeta Gran Canaria, which closes its doors today after seven days of frenetic activity from 10.00 am to 8.30 pm.

Promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, this festival has been elevated in this edition to a more family-oriented proposal, with activities intended for common enjoyment, in which not only boys and girls participate, while adults watch, but it involves young and old alike.

“We are absolutely satisfied with the influx of public that has been enjoying these days of a series of activities that, if anything, is characterized by its educational character. In addition, this year we wanted to introduce many activities in which parents themselves can participate in them,” said Raul Garcia, technical coordinator of Economic Development, Energy Sovereignty, Climate and Knowledge of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

Natalia Santana, general manager of Infecar, said that “the balance of this edition is very positive, not only in terms of public attendance but also in relation to the range of activities offered, which has been to the liking of the families who have come to Planeta Gran Canaria”.

Almost 30,000 people have passed through the fairgrounds since December 28th, the day on which Planeta Gran Canaria was able to open its doors, with a one-day delay in relation to the initial program due to bad weather. This, together with the fact that the 2020 and 2021 editions could not be held due to the health pandemic, has been noticeable in the influx of visitors to the fairgrounds, who were eager to meet again at this traditional Christmas festival in Gran Canaria.

With almost thirty activities, divided into Planeta Aventura, Planeta Desafío, Planeta de Luz y Color, Planeta Diversión, Planeta Inclusivo, Planeta Recreo and Planeta Digital, the fair has once again become a space of fun, illusion and fantasy for all the families of Gran Canaria, making it possible for them to share educational leisure on such special dates.

This 22nd edition of Planeta Gran Canaria has been promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria; organized by Infecar; sponsored by the Disa Foundation, El Corte Inglés, Playland Gran Canaria and Isola; with Cajasiete as official collaborator; and the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, CocaCola; the Accessible Gran Canaria program of the Institute of Social and Socio-sanitary Care; the National Park of GuGuy; the Institute of World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve; the Food Bank of Las Palmas.
