Planeta Gran Canaria opens the doors to its 25th edition, inviting to enjoy a Christmas full of joy and excitement.

The fair, promoted and funded by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organised by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, is celebrating its 25 years of history with a wide programme of activities, workshops, attractions and shows for the whole family

Antonio Morales states that the event “has become a Christmas classic on the island, a space for coming together and sharing”, and recalls that in 2024 nearly 35,000 people visited the fair

The event, which will remain open until 4 January, is launching a new outdoor area for playing football, in cooperation with the UD Las Palmas football school

Planeta Gran Canaria opened its doors today at Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, to host one of its most special editions. The island’s most iconic children’s and family Christmas fair is celebrating its 25th anniversary by inviting families from across Gran Canaria to share quality time, fun and learning in a space designed for childhood and educational leisure.

“Planeta Gran Canaria has become a Christmas classic on the island, a space for togetherness and meeting; there are very few families in Gran Canaria who, over these 25 years, have not come here with their children during the Christmas holidays,” said the president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, who recalled that nearly 35,000 people attended the fair in the previous edition.

From today until 4 January, the venue will be transformed into a true universe of experiences, with activities spread across different themed spaces turned into planets, combining outdoor attractions, creative workshops, family shows and digital proposals. An offer designed so that families on the island can enjoy many shared moments of fun and discovery.

Among the main highlights of this anniversary edition are the large outdoor areas of Planeta Desafío, the shows at Planeta de Luz y Color, and the extensive educational programme of Planeta Diversión, along with the activities at Planeta Recreo, the fun attractions of Planeta Aventura and the exciting competitions at Planeta Digital.

“Planeta Gran Canaria always aims to respond to the different areas of children’s development; there is an important focus on psychomotor activity and sport,” explained the Regional Minister for Economic Development, Minerva Alonso. She also announced as a new feature of this edition a partnership with the UD Las Palmas football school, creating an outdoor football play area, as well as the introduction of interactive games alongside many arts and crafts workshops, lettering, painting, theatre and musical performances, among others.

The fair also brings back the Superabuela show and welcomes YouTuber Invictor, who has written books and discusses them on his channel, “encouraging children to get into reading, which is very important,” said the minister. The content creator will meet with children on 3 and 4 January.

As the island president also highlighted, the fair includes food and refreshment areas, meaning that “there is the possibility to enjoy shows and games of different kinds throughout the whole day; with a lunch break, families can spend the entire day with children entertained, playing, having fun and enjoying the latest attractions and performances.”

All of this is offered without leaving any family behind. Once again, Planeta Gran Canaria is inclusive, incorporating specific measures to support children with special needs.

Planeta Gran Canaria will be open until 4 January, from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, with some exceptions such as 31 December, when it will be closed, and 1 January, when it will open only in the afternoon, from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

General admission tickets can be purchased on the website https://planetagrancanaria.es/ or at the venue box office for €5 per person, or €6.50 if, in addition to enjoying the fair, visitors wish to attend the special show by YouTuber Invictor. As every year, Infecar offers discounted ticket packages and free entry for certain groups, such as unemployed people, pensioners or people with disabilities, as well as children under 3 years of age.

Planeta Gran Canaria is an event promoted and funded by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organised by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria. Its sponsors include Fundación DISA, El Corte Inglés, Fred Olsen Express and Dormitorum, with Cajasiete as the official collaborating partner.
