- The Pet Fair is finalizing preparations and program details for its seventh edition.
The premier event for animal lovers, Animundo, is advancing the content for its seventh edition, returning to Infecar on September 28 and 29. Responsible pet ownership will again be the main focus of this event, which has established itself in the fair calendar as one of the most anticipated of the year.
Tickets, costing 1.50 euros, can already be purchased in advance on the website www.animundo.es. Additionally, as is tradition, those who wish to attend Infecar accompanied by their dogs free of charge for which they must fill out the authorization form that can be downloaded from the website.
Thus, Animundo will again be the reference space for professionals, families, and animal lovers. In this venue, they can find all the products and services for responsible pet care (in no case, the sale of animals).
In this sense, the fair will have a commercial offering that includes services for animals, food stores, products for enjoyment, and other animal welfare utilities. As a novelty, Animundo wants to enhance the fun for visitors who come with their dogs and can use the pools and parks set up for four-legged animals.
With all this, the seventh edition of Animundo will once again be a platform to promote animal adoptions from the Insular Animal Shelter of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. Aware of the difficulties in finding families, especially for dogs of potentially dangerous breeds (PPP), this edition of the Pet Fair seeks to make a call to all those who are thinking about adopting an animal to learn first-hand about the needs and attention these dogs require and offer them the opportunity they are waiting for.
Educational program
Animundo, the Pet Fair, will offer attendees of its seventh edition a broad program of educational content to raise awareness about respect for animals, their care, and their needs.
On this occasion, participants will include Carlos Rodríguez, veterinarian, director and co-owner of Centros Veterinarios Mascoteros, as well as director and presenter of the program ‘Como el perro y el gato’ on Onda Cero; Adrián Conde, veterinarian and content creator; Eider Fernández, canine ethologist and specialist in respectful education; Mónica Valdepeñas, expert in canine happiness, and Carmen Barreiro, veterinarian and content creator, among others.
Additionally, as usual, Animundo will also have a space for outdoor exhibitions by the units of the Local Police of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria GOIA-UE and the Coexistence and Mediation Unit (UMEC), the Lomo Salas Sports Club or Makata Dog.
Professional day
As in the previous edition, Animundo will also hold a professional day in 2024, which will take place the last afternoon, Friday, September 27, at the Infecar Congress Palace from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
This event, free of charge with prior registration on the website www.animundo.es, aims to be a space for debate around current issues in the sector. On this occasion, the topics to be discussed will be the use of technology in managing feline colonies and native Canarian dog breeds.
Additionally, as a novelty on this occasion, at 6:00 PM, a workshop will begin, also free of charge with prior registration and limited capacity, that will address grief management for professionals in greater detail.
Animundo is promoted and financed by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria; sponsored by Kiwoko Mundo Animal, Koala Mascotas, El Corte Inglés and Purina; with the official collaboration of Cajasiete; and the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce, the Insular Animal Shelter, the Official College of Veterinarians of Las Palmas, Club Granky, Atap, Lomo Salas Sports Club and Agapea as collaborators.
