Infecar ended 2024 with 150 events, solidifying its position as an economic, social, and cultural driving force

  • The venue managed to attract more than 273,000 visitors throughout the year, reflecting its continuous growth and its contribution to the development of the community and the business fabric of Gran Canaria.

Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, concludes 2024 with an extremely favourable balance, reflecting its importance in driving the island’s economic, social, and cultural development. Throughout the year, the venue hosted 150 events that welcomed 273,676 visitors, highlighting its continuous growth and positive impact on Gran Canaria’s business and social progress.

The year 2024 was marked by a varied and rich program of activities that, as in previous years, included a mix of fairs, congresses, exhibitions, and cultural events, covering sectors as diverse as digital and technological; crafts, primary and gastronomic sectors; communication and advertising; nautical, naval, and marine-maritime industries; cultural; small and medium commerce; pet care; electric mobility and circular economy; sports industry, and family activities.

“Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, reaffirms itself as a cornerstone of the island’s economy with 150 events in 2024 and almost 300,000 visitors. Feria de Gran Canaria thus becomes a meeting space for conventions, seminars, and business fairs, contributing to the dynamization of the island’s economy,” noted Minerva Alonso, the Councillor of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Crafts of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. She also mentioned “important challenges, including the upcoming improvement and modernization following the final approval of the Special Plan currently under processing in the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council.”

Among the fairs and events organized by Infecar, highlights include the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair (April 19–21), a flagship event for the local primary and gastronomic sector, which in its 2024 edition drew more than 12,600 visitors. Other standout events were the Fisaldo Opportunities Fair (June 12–16), which attracted 21,698 attendees, and the year’s most eagerly awaited family event on the island, Planeta Gran Canaria, which closed the calendar with 34,380 visitors between December and January 2025.

Throughout the year, other notable events included the International Sea Fair, Fimar (June 7–9), which attracted 15,000 attendees; Animundo, the Pet Care Fair (September 28–29); Movelec, the Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show (October 18–20); and the 14th International Canagua and Energy Fair (November 27–29), all of which continue to establish themselves as must-attend events in their respective sectors.

In the events field, Infecar held the second edition of DigiON Canarias (February 21–22), the Canary Islands Digitalization Business Fair, which attracted almost 2,000 attendees, reflecting the professional interest in this field. Other events included Canarias Comunica (May 16), an essential meeting for communicators and advertisers; Canariona (May 29), the island’s key celebration of Canary Islands Day; and Orígenes Gran Canaria (October 28–29), a professional discussion space for the island’s gastronomic sector.

Additionally, throughout the year, Infecar also organized three reference craft fairs for the island: the 29th edition of the Gran Canaria San Telmo Craft Fair; the 13th Gran Canaria Primavera Sur Craft Fair; and the 17th Gran Canaria Verano Sur Craft Fair. Furthermore, in December, Feria de Gran Canaria organised the 40th edition of the Canary Islands Craft Fair.

The year 2024 also saw the launch of the first edition of the Congress and Fair for Physical Activity and Sports of the Canary Islands, ExpoDeca, promoted by the Canary Islands Government and organized by Infecar. This event became a meeting point for the entire sports industry of the archipelago, with over 17,000 attendees.

Infecar also served as the venue for fairs, congresses, conventions, seminars, and various other events, resulting in the venue being occupied for 156 days throughout the year.

In this regard, Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, hosted, among others, the International Manga Festival; the En Modo Family Fair; the Avis Fair; the Sum Festival; and the Smart Green Islands Makeathon, as well as a multitude of conferences and shows of all kinds.

Infecar’s impact extended to the digital sphere as well, where the venue experienced significant growth in its community, reaching over 45,000 followers. With a total of 3,297 posts, Infecar reached 24,995,409 people, generating 112,280 interactions.

First Semester 2025 Calendar

The year has started at full speed for Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, with the celebration of the 30th edition of the Gran Canaria San Telmo Craft Fair, held January 2–5. This fair, during the Christmas campaign, promotes the work of Gran Canaria’s artisans.

Work is already underway for the 14th Gran Canaria Primavera Sur Craft Fair, which will showcase artisan products in the incomparable setting of Maspalomas Lighthouse from March 7–16. April will begin with the third edition of DigiON Canarias on April 2–3, followed by the 12th edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair from April 25–27.

In May, the International Sea Fair, Fimar, will take place from May 9–11. On May 15, Canarias Comunica, the Canary Islands Communication Forum, will return, concluding with Canariona on May 29, celebrating Canary Islands Day.

June will once again be the month for Fisaldo, the Opportunities Fair, which will serve as a meeting point for Gran Canaria’s small and medium businesses from June 11–15
