Infecar closes 2025 with 181 events and surpasses 300,000 visitors

  • The venue reaffirms its leadership as a social meeting point and a hub for economic activity in Gran Canaria
  • The 2026 calendar will be shaped by the start of the refurbishment works and the partial relocation of activity to the Recinto Ferial de Agüimes

Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria has once again recorded historic activity figures in 2025, closing the year with 328,725 people attending the venue to enjoy one of the 181 events held on its premises. Compared with the previous year, this represents a 21% increase in events and a 20% rise in visitors, figures that underline the important role the institution plays on the island as a social meeting point and a driver of economic activity in Gran Canaria.

These positive figures for visitor and event growth “confirm the contribution that Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, makes to boosting the economy of the island, particularly in strategic sectors”, as well as “the need for the new pavilion currently in the tendering process, which will represent an improvement for all fair activity on the island”, said Minerva Alonso, Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

Throughout the year, Infecar organised 17 trade fairs and own events, with 694 exhibitors and more than 200,000 visitors. Notable among these were those grouped under the Infecar Negocios umbrella, such as the Gran Canaria Craft Fairs in San Telmo, Primavera Sur, Verano Sur and Otoño Sur, as well as well-established events including the International Ecoislas Forum; DigiON Canarias, the Canary Islands Business Digitalisation Trade Fair; Gran Canaria Me Gusta; Fisaldo, the Opportunities Fair; Fimar, the International Sea Fair; Animundo, the Companion Animal Fair; and ExpoAgro Canarias, Innovation Encounters.

In addition, under Infecar Conecta, Infecar hosted two events in 2025—Canarias Comunica and ExpoBienestar—along with two others under Infecar Vive: the Canariona festival and Planeta Gran Canaria, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
Alongside its own programme, Infecar also hosted a total of 164 external events, attracting more than 120,000 attendees. Within the Negocios area, highlights included the International Paediatrics Congress, the Avis Canarias Fair, Gran Canaria Summer Con, the Annual Social Media Meeting and the Comic Can Manga Festival.

Under the Infecar Conecta brand, the venue hosted the Consul Conference, a lecture by Leyla Portillo, the Ecoisla Symposium, the Mainnova event, the LiveMed Medicine Congress, the Canarias Avanza Congress, the Canary Islands Employment Congress and Gran Canaria Game Island.

Meanwhile, sponsored by Infecar Vive, the venue also welcomed events such as Mentes Expertas; shows by Saúl Romero, Abián Díaz, Goyo Jiménez, Jorge Ávila and Mikel Bermejo; Viva Gran Canaria Music & Experience; Made in Canarias; concerts by JC Reyes and Manuel Turizo; Eterna Fest; Gran Canaria SUM Festival; Gran Canaria Challenge; the Gran Canaria Diversa event; and the Asenecan Charity Gala.

2026: a necessary modernisation

Since opening its doors in 1966, Infecar has contributed to boosting Gran Canaria’s economy and developing strategic sectors on the island through an attractive programme of events for the public.

In this context, Infecar now faces a new milestone in its history. Its growing activity—particularly in recent years—has led the Cabildo de Gran Canaria to take a step forward and equip the venue with modern infrastructure that meets current demand, ensuring it can continue to maintain the quality it has offered to date.

Accordingly, in 2026 Infecar will embark on a comprehensive modernisation, including the start of construction of a new pavilion as part of a complete and strategic refurbishment of the entire venue. This will enable Infecar to continue growing and to consolidate its position in the trade fair and events sector.

In the meantime, as the councillor explained, “until these works are completed”, part of Infecar’s own activity will be relocated to the Recinto Ferial de Agüimes, allowing it to continue offering a high-quality programme that helps drive the island’s economy.
