Gran Día kicks off this weekend as a meeting point for the celebrations industry

  • Professionals from the fashion, catering, photography, music, travel, decoration and other service sectors will showcase their offerings at the first edition of this event
  • The fair will open its doors free of charge at the Agüimes Exhibition Centre on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September

Nearly 70 companies from the events and celebrations industry will come together this weekend for the first edition of Gran Día, Celebrations Fair, which will take place at the Agüimes Exhibition Centre. Held on 19 and 20 September, the event aims to bring together professionals and companies involved in celebrations in one single space, offering ideas and inspiration to anyone currently organising a wedding, christening, anniversary, communion, birthday, retirement celebration or other type of event.

In the exhibition area organised by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, companies and professionals from the photography, make-up, fashion, travel, catering, sound and lighting, music, vehicle hire and other sectors will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services. At the same time, Gran Día provides the ideal setting for advising visitors on the latest trends, helping them organise distinctive, unique and special events.

In addition to the exhibition area, the new fair will feature an extensive programme of activities throughout the weekend, designed both for those organising a celebration and for those interested in discovering the latest trends in the sector. On Saturday 19, the programme will address topics such as the financial planning of a celebration, choosing venues and planning the essential aspects that need to be taken into account during the organisation process. In addition, two round-table discussions will bring together professionals from different fields to explore how a Gran Día is created and told, and the possibilities offered by travel linked to these events, respectively. Saturday’s programme will conclude with a fashion show showcasing the latest proposals from the sector.

On Sunday 20, the talks and round-table discussions will focus on other key aspects of celebrations, such as managing stress during preparations and trends in clothing and beauty. The programme will also feature another fashion show and a round-table discussion dedicated to the professionals and services that help create “the soul of the party”.

One of the highlights of the fair will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday with a live wedding ceremony organised by Lopesan. A large representation of the exhibiting companies and professionals attending Gran Día will take part, turning the fair itself into the setting for a complete celebration.

Throughout the weekend, the parallel programme will also extend to the outdoor stage located in the dining area, where a number of live performances will take place. On Saturday, Fijo Discontinuo will perform at 1:30 p.m., followed by Plátano Swing at 6:00 p.m.; on Sunday, Aseres will take the stage at 1:15 p.m., followed by DJ Álamo at 3:00 p.m.

Gran Día, Celebrations Fair will be open on Saturday 19 September from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday 20 September from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Attendance is free, but visitors must obtain their tickets in advance through the fair’s website, www.feriagrandia.es, where the list of participating companies, as well as the programme of talks and activities, is already available.

The event is promoted by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organised by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria. It is sponsored by Lopesan, with Cajasiete and the Agüimes Town Council as supporting partners.
