  • The 12th edition will take place from May 9 to 11 at Infecar. It will feature companies and institutions from various municipalities and a full program of activities for all audiences.
  • The guest junior chef and children’s workshops join the gastronomic experiences that will delight the youngest visitors.

The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, the island’s biggest showcase of local products and gastronomy, has opened ticket sales through its website: Feria Gran Canaria Me Gusta. Entry to the event, which will be held from May 9 to 11 at Infecar, costs a symbolic €1.50.

Under the slogan “Local product, unique identity”, this 12th edition will once again highlight the value of Gran Canaria’s primary sector with a packed program of culinary demonstrations, tastings, direct sales, workshops, and activities for all audiences. Last year’s edition welcomed over 12,000 visitors, and this year’s goal is to surpass that number with more than 80 participating companies, producers, and organizations.

The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair is a space to promote the island’s key production stakeholders and a meeting point for producers, gastronomy professionals, and consumers. Over 50 exhibitors—companies and producers to local councils—have already registered. Their products and culinary creations will showcase the diversity and richness of Gran Canaria’s local gastronomy. Products represented in the exhibition area will include olive oil and olives, aloe vera, coffee, beer, spices, condiments and infusions, fruits and vegetables, gofio, ice cream and desserts, jams, honey, bread and sweets, cheese, sea salt, wine, and juices. The Asociación Industrial de Canarias (Asinca) will also be present to highlight the key role of the local agri-food industry in driving the island’s economic development.

A nod to future generations

As in previous years, the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair specialises in future generations, offering dedicated workshops organized this year in collaboration with the Sociedad de Promoción Económica de Gran Canaria (SPEGC). This edition will feature guest chef Valentina Salazar, winner of MasterChef Junior 11. Alongside Canarian chef Alejandro de la Nuez, the young talent will lead several workshops for children aged 6 to 12, guiding participants through preparing a recipe made with ingredients from various municipalities on the island.

Each session, lasting approximately 45 minutes, will conclude with a blind tasting of four fruit juices, challenging the children to identify the flavors. Valentina Salazar’s workshops will occur on Saturday, May 10, at 11:00, 12:30, 17:00, and 18:30, and on Sunday, May 11, at 11:00 and 12:30.

In addition to the opportunity to cook with the guest junior chef, children will also be able to participate in Fruit Art workshops sponsored by SPAR Gran Canaria on Friday, May 9. These workshops aim to teach the importance of healthy eating. During the 45-minute activity, children will create two figures using different types of fruit, which they can also taste. These workshops are recommended for children aged 6 to 10.

The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair is promoted and funded by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria. Cajasiete is the official partner, with the support of Gran Canaria Me Gusta and the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce. The 12th edition is sponsored by SPAR Gran Canaria and HiperDino, with Comercial Naranjo as the equipment sponso
