- Movelec returns to the trade fair site on 20, 21 and 22 October, with 47 exhibiting companies occupying the entire exhibition site
The electric mobility industry will meet again this weekend at Infecar to learn about the latest developments in the sector at the seventh edition of Movelec, the Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show. The event will again be held over three days, on Friday, 20, Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 October, in response to the growing public interest in electric mobility.
The Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, and the Director General of Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, Natalia Santana, presented all the new features of this event to the media this morning.”Once again this year, Movelec aims to raise awareness of the environmental and savings advantages of using electric vehicles; to publicise the aid available for the purchase of electric vehicles and, at the same time, encourage their use; to highlight the importance of having CO2-free towns and cities and improving noise levels, developing the concept of eco-island; and to boost an emerging sector that will transform the concept of mobility in the 21st century”, said Minerva Alonso.
Alonso also thanked all those involved for their collaboration in making this event possible, including the Island Energy Council, “which is responsible for managing the electrification of Gran Canaria’s vehicle fleet, which currently has 46 recharging points and is working on the installation of three new ones in the municipalities of Santa Lucía, Telde and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria”. To this, the Councillor added that “it is worth noting that half of the electric vehicle fleet in the archipelago is in Gran Canaria, making our island a benchmark in this area”.
Natalia Santana, for her part, pointed out that “this edition of Movelec will be the most comprehensive to date, including cars, motorbikes, bicycles and electric scooters among the participating sectors, as well as a network of workshops and services and companies generating energy and 100% electric second-hand vehicles, which after being included in the show’s programme in the 2022 edition, returns this year with the exhibition of up to five exhibiting brands”.
“We are talking about a record seventh edition with the participation of 47 exhibitor companies in a surface area of almost 7,000 square metres, occupying the entire available area of the exhibition site at present”, he added.
With all this, Movelec will open its doors on Friday, 20 October, from 16.00 to 20.00 hours, Saturday, 21 October, from 10.30 to 20.00 hours and Sunday, 22 October, from 10.30 to 15.00 hours. Tickets to attend this edition can be purchased at www.movelec-canarias.com or the venue’s box office for two euros.
