ExpoDeca will be held from November 14 to 17, bringing together the entire sports industry of the Canary Islands archipelago
The goal is to create a meeting point in the Canary Islands for the entire sports industry and highlight the importance of sports and physical activity for the health and well-being of the citizens. This is the aim of the first edition of the Congress and Fair of Physical Activity and Sports of the Canary Islands, promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, and organized by Infecar, the Gran Canaria Fair.
This event arises from the joint effort of both institutions to bring together all the stakeholders in the world of sports in the islands, both public and private. It provides a unique opportunity for the institutions to establish relationships, create synergies, and showcase their products and services to the public to promote physical activity for the improvement of health and well-being.
The presentation of the first edition of the Congress and Fair of Physical Activity and Sports of the Canary Islands, held this Monday at the Infecar facilities, was led by the President of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, and the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, as representatives of the two organizing institutions, where the first details of the event were revealed.
“From the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, we are committed to hosting this first edition of the Congress and Fair of Physical Activity and Sports of the Canary Islands, which will bring together not only the business and social fabric of the Canary Islands sports industry but also highlight the importance of physical activity in all values and social guidelines that improve our quality of life,” said Morales.
“Sport is a fundamental element for education and health; it is a way to project the values of Gran Canaria to the outside world, and this Cabildo is making a great effort to generate cutting-edge infrastructures as an essential element for developing a community,” he added.
For his part, Suárez emphasized that this event will showcase “the conditions that the Canary Islands have for practising sports all year round, as well as the tireless work done by companies and institutions on the islands to improve sports in our region.”
He also expressed his satisfaction with the launch of this congress, a milestone that, in his opinion, will “finally take the reins to achieve one of the goals we set when we arrived at the ministry and that, finally, today we accomplish: giving the sports of the islands the importance it deserves.”
At the end of the presentation to the media, the President of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, and the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, led the organizing committee of this event, which brings together all the agents of the islands’ sports sector.
