DigiON Canarias returns to Infecar to support digital transformation and business development in Gran Canaria

  • International experts will share their experiences in the programme of talks and panel discussions taking place on April 2 and 3
  • More than 40 companies and institutions will participate as exhibitors in this third edition of DigiON to showcase their innovative products and services.

DigiON Canarias, the Canary Islands Business Digitalization Fair, will return to Infecar, Gran Canaria Fairground, on April 2 and 3 to showcase the latest technological trends and explore key aspects of the digital future.

In its third edition, the event will bring together companies, professionals, and experts focused on digital transformation to share the most innovative tech solutions, with special attention given to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As explained by Minerva Alonso, Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Crafts of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, DigiON is “an essential event aimed at supporting the digital transformation of businesses and, as a result, contributing to the business development of Gran Canaria.” Attendees can explore cutting-edge digital solutions, learn from other regions, and access essential resources to digitalize their businesses effectively.

The fair also facilitates connections with suppliers and technical solution providers, allowing companies to network and establish business opportunities. A dedicated exhibition area will feature 44 companies and institutions showcasing innovative products and services, including robotics, data engineering, training, and IT systems.

This year, Infecar is also introducing new spaces for pre-scheduled B2B meetings, networking, and a Speakers’ Corner where exhibitors can present their projects to professionals and businesses.

AI and Digitalization Leaders

A key attraction of DigiON is its lineup of talks and panel discussions featuring leading experts in AI, automation, and digital business transformation. Speakers include Sergio González, AI specialist at Microsoft, who helps companies across Europe design AI-based solutions; and Jon Hernández, creator of the popular Spanish-language AI channel @La_Inteligencia_artificial, known for his deep insights into AI’s opportunities and challenges.

In automation and productivity, Sara Maldon, Head of Business Automation & AI at Make, leads the Miriwa transformation program, which combines AI, automation, and innovation to create agile work environments. Romuald Fons, CEO and founder of BIGSEO, is a globally recognized marketer who has helped thousands of entrepreneurs grow their businesses and has trained over a million people via social media.

Toni de la Pietra, Director of Accenture’s Advanced Technology Center for Spain and Portugal, will join the speaker panel. He will share his views on Gran Canaria’s potential as an AI hub. Other speakers include Noemí Brito, partner in the legal area of KPMG Abogados, focusing on the legal and ethical aspects of AI; David Macías, CEO of AIOS and author of The AI Method; and Patricia Pastor, founder of GP Next Tier Ventures, who will speak on “Where to invest in AI to lead the future.”

This top-tier panel will offer strategic, technical, and legal insights into the digital future and participate in various panels. On April 2, Hernández, Brito, González, and Macías will address “AI in Business: Illusions and Realities,” moderated by speaker and presenter Jotaypunto.

The April 3 panel will discuss “Challenges and Opportunities for AI in the Canary Islands,” also moderated by Jotaypunto, with panelists including Miguel Peñate (former Head of Mobile Applications at Google and founder of ReplyNext), Romina Ojeda (co-founder and CEO of Reboot Academy and creator of Edukami.ai), and David Macías.

The event will close with the panel “2025: Digitalize or Die?” featuring Romuald Fons, Toni de la Pietra, and Sara Maldon, who will share their vision on the future of digital transformation in business and the central role of AI.

Organized by Infecar and promoted by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, DigiON Canarias is supported by Cajasiete as the official partner, with additional support from the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce and the Canary Islands ICT Cluster.
