New business opportunities, generation models, efficiency, desalination, water reuse, investment, and collaboration at the intersection of water and energy… These and many other topics will be addressed on 21 and 22 October at the 15th edition of Canagua y Energía, helping to consolidate the Canary Islands as an international benchmark for clean energy.

This year’s trade fair will be held at the Agüimes Exhibition Centre and already has nearly 60 companies registered to take part in the exhibition area, where they will showcase the latest trends in products and services related to the transformation of the water, energy and sustainability sectors across the Canary Islands.

The Canary Islands are a global reference in both the integrated water cycle and the use of clean energy. The archipelago’s experience in small- and medium-scale solutions represents a development model that can be exported to other parts of the world. In this context, the trade fair provides a meeting point for professionals, companies and institutions working in the sector who are looking for new business opportunities, seeking to strengthen professional relationships and create synergies to drive innovation and the efficient management of water and energy resources.

In addition to the exhibition area, which is now fully booked, this year Canagua y Energía will feature an extensive programme of presentations and round-table discussions focusing on energy and water. The energy programme will address the main challenges of the energy transition in island territories, with presentations and round tables on energy storage, flexibility and regulation, renewable energy integration, photovoltaic energy, new energy models, agrivoltaics and energy communities. The programme will also examine the potential of advanced energy management and floating solar PV in the Canary Islands.

Meanwhile, the water programme will focus on water reuse and adaptation to Royal Decree 1085/2024, reclaimed water risk management plans, and the protection of water infrastructure. Experts and representatives from various institutions will also discuss cybersecurity and the protection of water infrastructure against potential cyber threats.

At the same time, the Speakers’ Corner will host short presentations of up to 15 minutes, during which exhibiting companies and organisations will present innovative projects, technological solutions and new services. This space will encourage direct interaction with professional visitors, the generation of new business opportunities and the exchange of knowledge.

This year’s presentations will cover topics including virtual power plants, water treatment and reuse, water and energy savings, the circular economy, electric mobility, wind energy, energy storage, pumping systems, occupational safety, water management on agricultural holdings, and citizen participation in the energy model.

One month ahead of the event, the Canagua y Energía 2026 exhibition area has already reached 100% occupancy, with participating companies including SM Advance Energy, Hidra Servicios and Central de Representaciones Canarias, as well as public organisations such as Red Eléctrica, the Island Water Council, the Island Energy Council, the Gran Canaria Solar Energy Technology Park (ESGC), the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) and the Canary Islands Technological Institute (ITC).
