Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and new technologies will be the focus of the 2nd edition of DigiON Canarias

The Business Digitization Salon of the Canary Islands, DigiON Canarias, returns to Infecar this Wednesday and Thursday, February 21st and 22nd, with a second edition featuring two intense days filled with presentations by digitalization experts and an exhibition area with over 40 stands, along with a space dedicated to promoting the products and services of the exhibiting companies.

This professional gathering, promoted and financed by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, aims to consolidate itself as a space that supports and drives the digitalization of companies in the islands, bringing together digital solutions and the most modern technological tools in the market.

“On February 21st and 22nd, Infecar once again hosts the Business Digitization Salon of the Canary Islands, an event featuring an exhibition area and an extensive program of presentations to showcase the development of the digital sector and its importance in the economy of the island of Gran Canaria,” emphasizes the Councilor for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, who has noted that DigiON Canarias welcomed nearly 800 participants in its first edition and has increased the exhibition offer by more than ten exhibitors from last year, demonstrating the growing interest of professionals in the island and the archipelago in the digital transformation of their projects and businesses.

In this second edition, DigiON Canarias comes with an extensive program of conferences where experts will discuss with attendees the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, Artificial Intelligence (AI), or cybersecurity, among others. Specifically, the conference program of DigiON Canarias will begin this Wednesday, February 21st, with a roundtable discussion on the digitalization of SMEs, with the participation of the head of the Institutional Promotion and Territorial Cooperation Department of CDTI, Emilio Iglesias, the director of ICEX, José Mª Blasco Ruíz, the coordinator of CIDIHUB, Antonio Collado, and the director of the Department of Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria, Anecto Falcón.

The conference program on the first day also includes the intervention of the CEO of Singularsolving and board member of Startups Institute, Javier Recuenco, who will speak about how to incorporate technology into businesses and the challenges it may entail; the expert in digital strategy, digital marketing, and innovation, the Head of Innovation at t2ó Group, Esther Checa, will talk about Artificial Intelligence and critical thinking. The founder of the AI-OS method for implementing AI in companies, David Macías, and the Head of Growth @Product Hackers, Juanma Varo, will also address in their interventions how to use innovative AI for the transformation and growth of companies and businesses. Additionally, the sociologist, digital nomad, and co-founder of Female Startup Leaders, Silvia Rivela, will ask the conference professionals: “Am I a technological zombie?”

The Hacker and Chief Digital Officer of Telefónica and one of the most popular speakers at hacking and cybersecurity conferences worldwide, Chema Alonso, stands out among the experts participating in the second day of DigiON Canarias this Thursday, February 22nd. In his presentation, he will explain his definition of “digital humans” and talk about generative artificial intelligence, which is capable of generating content such as images, texts, or music. The presentations during the second and final day of the event were completed by the president of the Association of Internet Users and expert lawyer in cybersecurity and new technologies, Ofelia Tejerina; the judicial expert specialized in digital identity and online reputation, CEO, and founder of the company onBRANDING, Selva Orejón; and the cybersecurity specialist at CSA and founder of the Hacking Congress “HACKRON,” Igor Lukic; all of them will speak about cybercrime and cybersecurity. A monologue on digitalization by the CEO and founder of Entrepreneurs Fight Club and ‘Everything will be alright,’ Jota Ypunto, will be responsible for closing the conference program of this edition.

‘Speaker’s Corner’ Zone

In addition to the presentations within the program, Infecar has provided a space where exhibitors who wish to do so will present their projects, products, and services to other exhibitors and professional visitors attending the event. Data management, tourism, cybersecurity, marketing, digital privacy, and sustainability are some of the proposals that the exhibitors participating in the ‘Speaker’s Corner’ will showcase this Wednesday and Thursday at this Business Digitization Salon.

The program of DigiON Canarias is completed by the exhibition offer consisting of 43 companies and projects, as well as a stand area where visitors can obtain information about financing lines and aids for business digitalization.
