– The first six months of the year have left a very positive balance in the fairs and events organised to date.
More than 62,000 visitors certify that the return to normality is increasingly latent in the trade fair sector. At Infecar we have thus ended the first half of this year 2022, in which we have hosted seven events, with 217 exhibitors and more than 253 participants in parallel informative and leisure activities.
In a review of what has been our activity in these first six months of the year, we started the calendar with the celebration in February of the tenth edition of Canarias Comunica, the Canary Islands Communication Forum, which on this occasion was entitled ‘From market power to consumer power’ and which featured Agustín Medina, Juan Ramón Plana, Francisco José González and Fernando Herrero, founders of Presidentex, and which brought together almost a hundred spectators in the Sala Canarias of the Gran Canaria Conference Centre.
In March, the second edition of ExpoAgro Canarias, the Innovation Fair in the Primary Sector, returned to Infecar. In numbers, more than 1,700 professional visitors came to this event to see first-hand the products and services of the 40 exhibiting companies. This figure represented a record participation compared to the 2019 edition, thus equalling the pre-pandemic data.
Also in March we experienced the seventh edition of ExpoBienestar Canarias, which on this occasion hosted a programme focused on ‘Personal wealth and work balance’, thus addressing different topics on the professional environment, but also placing special emphasis on the importance of health and well-being in all areas of life, as well as in education, with more than 250 attendees between face-to-face and virtual.
The event par excellence with gastronomy and the primary sector returned to our venue in April with the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, which returned to the fair without restrictions with nearly 7,500 visitors, 53 exhibitors, 67 tastings and product presentations, 10 gastronomic exhibitions, 9 children’s workshops and 4 cooking competitions.
In May, the nautical and marine-maritime sector met again with the International Sea Fair, Fimar, in a new location: the Santa Catalina cruise pier. This eleventh edition confirmed the strength of the blue economy after the period of restrictions due to the pandemic, with 16,717 visitors, 60 exhibitors, 21 visits to the Port of Las Palmas, 21 informative talks and 19 nautical exhibitions.
The Day of the Canary Islands was once again celebrated to the rhythm of music with Canariona, which on this occasion was held in the Parque de Santa Catalina, recovering the in-person show and attracting more than 15,000 spectators.
The 22nd edition of Fisaldo, the Fair of Opportunities, was the finishing touch to this six-month period, providing a boost for small and medium-sized businesses in Gran Canaria, hosting a total of 64 exhibitors and attracting 20,942 visitors.
Another six months of 2022 lie ahead, with the Gran Canaria Blue Economy Forum; Movelec, the Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show; the International Canagua and Energy Fair; Animundo, the Pet Fair; and Planeta Gran Canaria, the 22nd Children’s Festival.
