The Port Authority of Las Palmas supports the logistics sector at FILCA as the main sponsor

The Port Authority of Las Palmas has joined the first edition of the Canary Islands Logistics Innovation Fair, FILCA, thus supporting this strategic meeting for the promotion and modernisation of the logistics sector in the archipelago. Its presence as the main sponsor highlights the role of ports as key infrastructure for connectivity, trade and economic development in the Canary Islands.

In addition to its sponsorship, FILCA includes a prominent presence of the Port Authority of Las Palmas in the programme of presentations and round tables, with two speeches by its president, Beatriz Calzada.

The opening round table, “Logistics as a strategic axis for the Canary Islands”, addressed the importance of the logistics system as a backbone of the territory and a decisive factor for business activity and economic growth in the islands, while the round table “Ports and sustainable logistics in the Canary Islands” was conceived as a space for reflection focused on the role of ports in the transition towards more efficient and sustainable logistics models.

This debate analysed the challenges and opportunities for the Canary Islands port system in areas such as sustainability, cooperation between agents, innovation and adaptation to the new demands of maritime transport and the logistics chain, in which the Port Authority of Las Palmas, as one of the country’s main ports, plays a decisive role.
