The venue is thus consolidated as one of the largest hubs of economic, social and cultural dynamism in Gran Canaria

With more than 200 events held throughout 2023, Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, caps off a year that will be marked in its history as the one in which the renewal of its brand was presented. The venue’s strategic, visual and narrative direction has reflected a new roadmap throughout this year. It also has four sub-brands: Infecar Negocios, Infecar Conecta, Infecar Vive and Infecar Impulse.

Thus, in addition to changing its name to Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, the slogan “We drive what unites us” was also consolidated in 2023, which summarizes what Infecar means as a space that drives progress, knowledge, the moment and the well-being of Gran Canaria.

In total, 211 events were held, in which 304 exhibiting companies and 159,965 attendees participated. The professional nature of many of the events, crucial for the economic development of our land’s business community, took on particular relevance.

At the sectoral level, through its activity, Infecar brought together sectors as diverse as energy, water, electric mobility and circular economy; digital, technological and tourist; primary and gastronomic sector; communication and advertising; nautical, naval and marine-maritime; small and medium commerce; professional well-being; pet and family activities.

In the area of fairs and events organized by Infecar, 2023 marked the celebration of the tenth edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, the benchmark event on the island for both the primary and local gastronomic sectors, in addition to continuing to host some of the most eagerly awaited dates on its calendar such as Planeta Gran Canaria; Fimar, the International Sea Fair; or Fisaldo, the Bargain Fair.

Likewise, in the last quarter of the year, some regular dates were held, such as Animundo, the Pet Fair, which for the first time had a previous day of marked professional character, or ExpoAgro Canarias, which on this occasion focused on training sessions and dissemination on technological and innovation solutions.

The year 2023 also saw the birth of two new events: the International Ecoislands Forum, aimed at enabling a space for discussion and boosting measures aimed at enhancing the transition towards a greener, more profitable, more self-sufficient and environmentally more model sustainable and with an island focus; and DigiOn Canarias, the Canary Islands Business Digitalization Salon, a professional and multi-sectoral meeting to bring together digital solutions and technological innovation in a single space.

In the area of congresses, Infecar hosted the celebration of the Navalia Meeting, the essential nationwide naval meeting in the sector, for the first time in September.

In addition, Infecar was chosen as the venue for the holding of fairs, congresses, conventions, conferences and other acts of a different nature, with 61% of them being professional and 39% being popular, resulting in the occupancy of the premises over 181 days.

In this sense, Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, hosted the holding, among others, of the International Manga Festival; the En Modo Family Fair, the Insular Youth Fair or the LPA Motown; Deep Learn Summer or Smart Green Islands Makeathon; as well as countless conferences and shows of all kinds.

Regarding Infecar’s digital community, it increased to over 41,000 followers, 11% more than in 2022, who kept up to date with the activity of the venue on the various social media channels, generating almost 104,000 interactions and over 7 million impressions, 164% more than in 2022.

2024 Calendar

The beginning of 2024 has also meant the premiere of Infecar as the organizer of the 29th edition of the Gran Canaria San Telmo Craft Fair, which was held again between January 2 and 5 with a completely renewed image.

Work is already underway on the second edition of Digion Canarias, which will take place on February 21 and 22 at Infecar. In March, it will be time for the 13th edition of the Gran Canaria Southern Spring Craft Fair, which, between March 15 and 24, will move the craft product to the incomparable enclave of the Maspalomas Lighthouse.

From April 19 to 20, the primary sector and local gastronomy will meet at the 11th edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair. Regarding May, on the 16th, there will be a new date for Canarias Comunica, the Canary Islands Communication Forum; on the 29th, we will vibrate again with Canariona to celebrate Canary Islands Day.

The activity in June will begin from June 7 to 9 with the International Sea Fair, Fimar, which will bring together the nautical and marine-maritime sectors of the islands. A week later, from June 12 to 16, the Bargain Fair, Fisaldo, will be the meeting point for small and medium businesses in Gran Canaria.

From August 9 to 18, the 17th edition of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Lighthouse Craft Fair will return, a summer event that will showcase the best crafts of our land.

The Canary Islands Wellness Expo will return to Infecar on September 28, while the Canary Islands Electric Vehicle Show, Movelec, will do so from October 18 to 20 and Animundo, the Pet Fair, between November 15 and 17.

The 14th edition of the International Fair Canagua and Energy will occur between November 27 and 29. Planeta Gran Canaria will again close its trade fair activity calendar between December 26 and January 4, 2025.

30th anniversary of the Gran Canaria Conference Centre

In 2024, the 30th anniversary of the Infecar Gran Canaria Conference Centre will be commemorated; a space that drives experiences and has hosted numerous international, national and local congresses, conferences, conferences and events of all kinds throughout its history.

It can accommodate more than 2,000 people in different spaces equipped with all the necessary technical means to develop any event, adapting its spaces to offer a personalized experience.

With all this, Infecar will continue throughout this year to position itself as the reference space in Gran Canaria in the trade fair and conference sector, contributing to the economic development of the island’s business community and being a driving force for experiences for its thousands of visitors.
