The Board of Directors of the Institución Ferial de Canarias (Infecar) officially appointed Natalia Santana Hernández as the new general manager of Infecar on Friday, 8 July, following the public competition held for this purpose.
Santana faces the challenge of the integral transformation of the venue, after having held the position on an accidental basis since 2020 and having been in charge of the Fairs department for the previous five years. He also has more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors.
The president of the Infecar Executive Committee, Raúl García Brink, pointed out that “the challenges that Infecar must face in the short and medium term are multiple and range from the renovation of the facilities in which it is immersed, the modernisation of the brand, to the adaptation of its offer to current needs”. In this sense, he indicated that “Natalia Santana’s profile is ideal for finding innovative solutions without losing sight of the institution’s trajectory”.
For her part, Natalia Santana said that “it is a great responsibility and a great honour to be at the head of Infecar and all its team, at a time of such a profound transformation as the one we will experience in the immediate future. The construction of the new Infecar pavilion will be accompanied by the drafting of a new Special Development Plan, which will involve a new physical reorganisation of the space of the exhibition centre, which will serve to respond to the challenges and trends facing the trade fair and events activity of the future. This new strategy will undoubtedly contribute to improving the competitiveness of Gran Canaria as a business destination and of its entire business fabric”.
