The 14th edition of the International Canagua and Energy Fair, from November 27 to 29 at Infecar, will host the first edition of the Canagua and Energy Awards. The Cabildo of Gran Canaria promotes these awards as part of its alignment with the 2030 Agenda and Ecoisla strategy. They aim to recognize the most outstanding trajectories and projects in water management and energy sustainability.
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 28, at 7:30 PM during a gala event called the Night of Energy and Water. Attendance is free but requires prior registration on the website www.canagua.es.
This event will honour professionals and organizations significantly advancing these essential sectors. Winners were selected based on their contributions to reducing the carbon footprint, promoting energy efficiency, and ensuring sustainable water use.
Sustainability and Water
The Insular Water Council of Gran Canaria (CIAGC) organises the first category of awards, Sustainability and Water. Its purpose is to recognize and reward outstanding initiatives in water management, conservation, and sustainable use, promoting awareness and action regarding water challenges through four categories.
In the Social and Collective Initiative in the Water Sector category, the award goes to Casa-Museo León y Castillo. The winner in Business Initiative in the Water Sector is Agragua, S.A. For Professional Trajectory in the Water Sector, Fernando Andrés Ojeda Pérez is recognized. Lastly, in the Academic Works in the Water Sector category, the award honours Alicia Medina Galván and Nikole Andrea Bunster Pérez.
Sustainability and Energy
The Insular Energy Council of Gran Canaria (CIEGC) led the Sustainability and Energy category. These awards aim to recognize and foster innovation, promote sustainable practices, and highlight the importance of efficient resource management in the energy sector through four additional categories.
The winner in the Social and Collective Initiative in the Energy Sector category is Macrocarbon S.L. The Business Initiative in the Energy Sector award goes to Tirma, S.A. For Professional Trajectory in the Energy Sector, Roque Alejandro Calero Pérez is recognized. The winners of the Academic Work in the Energy Sector category are Abraham José Quintana Infante and Jaime Hernández Leal.
