The eleventh edition of the “Gran Canaria Me Gusta” Fair, which will take place from April 19th to 21st at Infecar, the Gran Canaria Fair, has now opened the application period for the fourth edition of the “Gran Canaria Me Gusta” Regional Cooking Contest.
This contest, open to participants from all the islands, will keep the application period open until Wednesday, March 6th at 23:59 hours. Those interested in winning the prize can register for participation at Feria Gran Canaria Me Gusta.
So, the Regional Cooking Contest will consist of creating and presenting a dish that identifies and highlights the use of local raw materials. It is aimed at professionals and new talents, the two participating categories.
On this occasion, El Corte Inglés sponsors this Regional Cooking Contest, supplying the participants with the local product they will cook in the final, which will take place during the “Gran Canaria Me Gusta” Fair. Besides, the first-placed in both categories will receive an honor and a gift check from El Corte Inglés worth a thousand euros.
In this sense, the Regional Cooking Contest in the New Talent category is aimed at students of legal age who are in their final year of studies in this academic year in schools and professional training centres, public or private, in the hospitality branch of the islands.
Schools and professional training centres must submit the application forms of the students interested in participating. However, directors and teachers of the schools and training centres may not participate in this category.
Meanwhile, those professionals who have at least one year of experience in some of the required categories, working full-time in a kitchen, will be able to participate in the Regional Cooking Contest in the Professional category.
Of all the recipes received, the three that score the highest in the selection phase will compete in the contest’s finals, which will take place during the development of the eleventh edition of the “Gran Canaria Me Gusta” Fair.
