This is the purpose with which the Cabildo de Gran Canaria is promoting the first edition of the \u00a1Qu\u00e9 bueno! Gran Canaria Me Gusta for excellence in commitment to local produce, which is organised by Infecar and Qu\u00e9 Bueno Canarias.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are promoting these awards because we believe that the effort to promote local produce deserves recognition. The selected establishments are committed to local produce, with an important presence in their establishments and in their gastronomic offer, and, above all, for their promotion of the work of our island&#8217;s producers&#8221;, says the president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales.<\/p>\n<p>La Trastienda de Chago (G\u00e1ldar), La Tunera (Telde), Casa Rom\u00e1ntica (Agaete), Nelson (Ag\u00fcimes), Casa Enrique (Mog\u00e1n), Biocreper\u00eda Risco Ca\u00eddo (Artenara) and El Padrino, Muxgo, El Equilibrista33, Cuernocabra, Tabaiba and El Bento Japon\u00e9s, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, are the twelve finalists designated by the specialised jury to opt for this recognition in the framework of the ninth edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, which is being held from 29 April to 1 May in Infecar.<\/p>\n<p>The jury was made up of, as president, Ra\u00fal Garc\u00eda Brink, representing the Cabildo de Gran Canaria; Eugenio S\u00e1nchez, from the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria; Laura Acosta, from \u00a1Qu\u00e9 bueno! Canarias; Mima Roca, president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy in Las Palmas; Javier Su\u00e1rez, gastronomic journalist and director of Por Fogones in Canarias Ahora; and Yuri Millares, editor of the magazine Pellagofio and member of the jury of the \u00a1Qu\u00e9 Bueno! Canary Islands.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, the jury has taken into consideration as assessment criteria to award the recognition, meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, taking into account all the varieties available and the percentage of the same product from abroad; bread, salt and oils, checking the use of these products in the service to the diner; the wine cellar, analysing the wine list of the island with respect to those of other islands or abroad, also considering other drinks such as coffee, vermouth or homemade preparations in the form of liqueurs or similar; and, finally, the use of handmade crockery made by Gran Canarian professionals, this being an added value to the establishment.<\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de esta iniciativa, el Cabildo de Gran Canaria tiene por objetivos, de una parte, promocionar la gastronom\u00eda insular, entendida como un conjunto de propuestas basadas en la autenticidad del producto local y sus elaboraciones tradicionales y modernas; as\u00ed como fomentar el consumo de producto de proximidad, disminuir la emisi\u00f3n de CO2 al reducir el transporte de alimentos, promover el consumo de carne y pescado de ganader\u00eda y pesca sostenible, adem\u00e1s de aplicar medidas medioambientales en los establecimientos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUtilizar producto local es invertir en econom\u00eda circular, medio ambiente y salud. Tenemos que seguir promoviendo su uso desde la tradici\u00f3n y la innovaci\u00f3n, se\u00f1ala el coordinador de Desarrollo Econ\u00f3mico, Soberan\u00eda Energ\u00e9tica, Clima y Conocimiento del Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Ra\u00fal Garc\u00eda Brink.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de esto, como objetivos sociales tambi\u00e9n se ha tenido en cuenta incentivar la compra directa al peque\u00f1o productor, dar un valor justo al producto de cercan\u00eda, mencionar en las cartas la procedencia y\/o el productor y contribuir a la econom\u00eda local sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed pues, de los doce establecimientos finalistas, solo uno ser\u00e1 el que reciba la insignia a su labor profesional desarrollada en el sector, si bien todos los restaurantes que han sido seleccionados recibir\u00e1n una placa distintiva en valor a su compromiso con el producto local.<\/p>\n<p>De esta manera, el Cabildo de Gran Canaria se mantiene firme en su apuesta por dar impulso a los establecimientos que aportan un valor a\u00f1adido a la gastronom\u00eda de la isla, integrando en sus cartas el producto local, potenciando su consumo y contribuyendo a la dinamizaci\u00f3n de la econom\u00eda de la isla de Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n<p>Consulta las bases legales de este reconocimiento en la web de la feria <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grancanariamegusta.es\">www.grancanariamegusta.es<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The twelve finalist restaurants are located in the municipalities of\u00a0 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (6), G\u00e1ldar, Telde, Agaete, Ag\u00fcimes, Mog\u00e1n and Artenara.
