Over two days, the event focused on the most pressing issues surrounding artificial intelligence in the business environment, from cybersecurity and regulation to data management, ethical use and the need to build trust in information in an increasingly automated context.<\/p>\n<p>David Delgado, Head of Information Security at Edataconsulting, and Ra\u00fal Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez, AI trainer and communicator, closed the first day of DigiON. Delgado explained how corporate AI can be a highly useful tool in the workplace, while also posing risks related to data exposure and privacy. Ra\u00fal Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez, in turn, led an engaging workshop showing how to use some of the most common AI tools in professional environments and how to create AI agents, \u201cwhich can massively increase productivity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Digitalisation Fair, which welcomed more than 1,000 visitors, continued this morning with its programme of talks and round tables. Cristina Aranda, AI consultant and co-founder of MujeresTech, explored the relationship between artificial intelligence and human talent, highlighting the importance of data management and quality. Data \u2014 and how to maximise its value \u2014 was also addressed by Mannix Manglani, CEO and CTO of MNX Online and TOURLab. \u201cData on its own is worthless; if it doesn\u2019t move, it has no value,\u201d said Manglani, who explained how users can share information while maintaining \u201cdata sovereignty,\u201d meaning each user decides what to share, with whom and under what conditions, and how companies can use data spaces to \u201cmove data with trust and generate value.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Selva Orej\u00f3n, CEO of OnbrandinG, explained that most of the cases her company handles are related to identity theft and the spread of misinformation aimed at influencing public opinion: \u201cWe are all potential targets of disinformation campaigns designed to shape how we think about specific issues,\u201d said the digital reputation expert, who outlined the risks of automated disinformation.<\/p>\n<p>The round table \u2018Humans + AI: creativity, ethics and wellbeing in the workplace\u2019 featured M\u00e9lida L\u00f3pez, CEO at Kanzo Tech; Maica Amador, CEO and co-founder of Sparkling Tech Solutions and researcher at IUCES-ULPGC; and \u00c1ngel Guti\u00e9rrez, CEO and CPO of Catalyst Tools.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers reflected on how ethical responsibility for the use and content of digital platforms cannot fall solely on users, the final link in the chain. They also discussed how AI is reshaping the way people work within organisations, from supporting daily tasks to its impact on human rights, workplace diversity, bias, creativity and decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>The closing session of DigiON Canarias 2026 was delivered by Canary Islands-based AI communicator Carlos Santana, who, before a packed audience, predicted a future of artificial intelligence \u201cthat no longer surprises us.\u201d Santana reviewed the evolution of AI over the past four years and how the boom of this technology has made tools far more accessible than before.<\/p>\n<p>In his talk \u2018The future of artificial intelligence beyond the hype\u2019, Santana stated that all language models are evolving to become more powerful and increasingly personalised for each user.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the conference programme, the Digitalisation Fair featured nearly fifty companies offering technological solutions to support SME digital transformation. From applications for invoicing and budgeting, smart locks and specialised training, to customer service software and virtual and augmented reality tools.
