More than 70 craft professionals from 15 island municipalities will gather from March 7 to 16 to showcase 22 trades, three of which are traditional.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"1111\">From 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, local artisans will have the opportunity to market their products while also giving visibility to their trades and craftsmanship, both to loyal local customers and to tourists visiting Gran Canaria, particularly in the southern region.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1332\">The Gran Canaria Spring South Handicraft Fair is an ideal showcase for innovation and tradition, showcasing high-quality artisan work made in various corners of Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1785\">Professionals in woodturning, leatherworking, and toy making will again share space with artisans in jewellery and soap crafting, among many other traditional crafts. The most represented trade in this edition of the fair is leatherworking, with 13 artisans ready to showcase their products, followed by jewelry making and macram\u00e9, with eight artisans each, and fabric decoration, with six participants.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"2135\">Other trades represented include patchwork, traditional carpentry, ceramics, candle making, p\u00edrgano basketry, fabric decoration, felting and crochet, blacksmithing, forging and locksmithing, printing and engraving, miniatures, fashion-related crafts, doll making, paper and cardboard crafting, cigar making, material recycling, and glasswork.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2137\" data-end=\"2759\">Regarding their origins, the artisans participating in this 14th edition of the fair come from 15 out of the 21 municipalities of the island. The most represented is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with 30 professionals, followed by Ag\u00fcimes, eight, and Telde, seven. San Bartolom\u00e9 de Tirajana contributes six professionals, while Firgas, Ingenio, and Valsequillo have three artisans. Santa Br\u00edgida, Santa Luc\u00eda, Santa Mar\u00eda de Gu\u00eda, and Terror are represented by two artisans each, and Agaete, G\u00e1ldar, Mog\u00e1n, and Moya each contribute one artisan.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2761\" data-end=\"3169\">Promoted and funded by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Fund for Ethnography and the Development of Canarian Handicrafts (Fedac), a body under the Department of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Handicrafts, the Spring South Handicraft Fair is organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, with the collaboration of the San Bartolom\u00e9 de Tirajana City Council.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3171\" data-end=\"3197\">Cultural Program<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3199\" data-end=\"3381\">As every year, and to enrich the visitor experience, the event will also feature a schedule of complimentary activities held over the two weekends of the fair.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3383\" data-end=\"3814\">On Saturday, March 8, starting at 5:00 PM, performances by Alberto Gonz\u00e1lez, Iv\u00e1n Quintana, and Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Ram\u00edrez will take place. On Sunday, March 9, at 5:00 PM, the event will feature Zaida Jim\u00e9nez and Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Ram\u00edrez.
