It has brought together a significant portion of the energy and water sectors, showcasing highly innovative systems,\u201d stated Ra\u00fal Garc\u00eda, Councilor for Environment, Climate, Energy, and Knowledge of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. He also expressed satisfaction with the event\u2019s results, adding, \u201cWe are already working on the next edition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">With 89 participating exhibitors and more than 1,500 visitors, the event provided a platform to present cutting-edge technological solutions for energy transition and water security. It also served as a venue for high-level debates, sponsored by Green Efficient, tackling decarbonization, geothermal energy, and water digitalization topics. In one of the roundtables, representatives from the Gran Canaria, La Gomera, and Tenerife councils discussed whether they are prepared to lead the energy revolution required for the islands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Miguel Hidalgo, Councilor for the Primary Sector of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, emphasized the high quality of the professionals involved in the presentations and the increased presence of companies from the water and energy sectors compared to previous editions. He also highlighted the recognition of individuals and entities contributing to sustainability through the inaugural <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Canagua y Energ\u00eda Awards<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, stating, \u201cThe positive feedback motivates us to work harder to maintain, if not surpass, the success of this edition in the future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The Canary Islands&#8217; insular nature was acknowledged as an exportable model for small-scale solutions, reinforcing the fair\u2019s importance as a space for exchanging knowledge and experiences among companies and professionals regionally, nationally, and internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">Water Takes Center Stage on the Final Day<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The technical program on Friday morning was dedicated entirely to water, featuring two roundtables.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The first roundtable explored the relationship between water costs and tariffs in the Canary Islands, where jurisdiction is divided among municipal, insular, and regional administrations. Public and private sector representatives discussed the need to review regulations to balance costs, taxation, and pricing in the current context and to improve efficiency and sustainability in water management, which also impacts its valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The second roundtable provided insights into solutions for addressing drought challenges, emphasizing the importance of portable technologies to respond to water needs during emergencies, natural disasters, or in areas without sanitation infrastructure. Portable solutions have been crucial in disasters like the eruption of the Tajogaite volcano in La Palma, offering transportable, flexible, and adaptable systems. These technologies are also valuable for small-scale or domestic use, covering all phases of the water cycle, especially recovery and reuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong><span class=\"s3\">Networking and Business Opportunities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Attendees participated in B2B business meetings hosted in a space sponsored by Naturgy, which aimed to foster relationships and collaborations among exhibitors, professionals, and fair visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Additionally, under the sponsorship of Bet Solar, more than 30 entities utilized the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Speakers\u2019 Corner<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> to deliver brief 15\u201320 minute presentations showcasing their projects, products, or services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong><span class=\"s3\">Recognition of Excellence<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">A highlight of this edition was the inaugural <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Canagua y Energ\u00eda Awards<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, honoring outstanding regional initiatives in sustainability and water management. Presented during Thursday\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Energy and Water Night<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, these awards celebrated the Canary Islands\u2019 progress in promoting clean energy and sustainable water use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong><span class=\"s3\">Commitment to a Sustainable Future<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Promoted and funded by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, the Island Energy Council, and the Island Water Council, and organized by Infecar, Canagua y Energ\u00eda counted on Green Efficient as its platinum sponsor, Bet Solar and Naturgy as sponsors, Cajasiete as the official collaborator, and the support of Proexca and the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The fair, which has just concluded its 14th edition, reaffirmed the Canary Islands\u2019 commitment to a sustainable future.
